Don’t Qualify Your Facts

I’m a big believer in getting to the point. Cut to the chase. Just the facts.
Unless…I have to tell you about something that I don’t think you need to know about. Then it is very likely that I will write a much longer sentence which will mask the details that I hope you forget you were looking for because the sentence just kept going.
To be honest I don’t think about this too much in the work place. To me it’s just part of doing business. But when a marketer does it I always notice.
“#1 in quality (determined by some review company that we chose to cite because they gave us the #1 ranking)”
vs.
“Best Selling Truck for 40 years”
Which one do you find more believable?
